I think this was the first time I've ever made German pancakes! Where has this recipe been all my life? Super easy and fun to make. I wish I hadn't overlooked this recipe dozens of times while perusing through my old Carondelet Ward cookbook.
german pancakes (my friend Robyn B. from my days in St. Louis)
1 1/2 cups milk
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon melted butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup flour
Beat the eggs. Add one cup milk. Add salt, butter, and flour; stir until smooth. Add 1/2 cup milk and sugar; pour in 9x13 inch pan. Bake 20 minutes at 425. Serve with fresh fruit and whipped cream or butter and syrup. We opted for fresh strawberries and a dust of powdered sugar.
